About Mt. Moornapa wines

Mt. Moornapa Wines is a small, sustainable vineyard and winery east of Briagalong in the foothills of Gippsland, looking towards Mt. Moornapa.

The original plantings were Merlot and Riesling in 1980, with Traminer, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in later years.

The building housing the wine-making area has been specially designed with a high, domed ceiling to create a cathedral-like appearance and was completed and opened in 2003.

Over the years, Mt. Moornapa wines has continued to evolve and we are particularly proud that the wines that are now produced are a wonderful reflection of the grape varieties grown here.

Wine tastings are conducted in the underground cellar, which is the realisation of a 10 year dream. The cellar is full of charm and character and provides the perfect temperature for wine storage and is ideal for groups or individuals looking for a special experience. Magnificent views to the mountains can be had out through the huge wooden doors at the end of the cellar, where you are welcome to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.

Sales are only available through the cellar door. Trading hours are normally noon to 4pm Saturday, Sunday and most public holidays or by phoning Peter on 0407 049 675
